Mark Cuban has always been maliciously thinking, self-aware and fortunately conspicuous. It has intelligence an MBA, the ego of the Oscar winner and the quest for attention of P.T. Barnum. And I like it.
Of course, when the Cuban interjects itself in the argument of the playoffs BCS, part of what he is demagoguery. This is actually a red-hot approach, Donald Trump think that Cuba has a big ego.
This is what people want a playoff games system. A difficult, smart billionaire who will take on a group of trenches, the old school coots trapped in the 1950s.
Cuba is Mark Zuckerberg and Fonzie BCS. Ayyyyyyy. If Cuban sticks to its mission of bringing a playoff games system in college football, it will not be a contest. Break you the cartel. It will finally shame or force a playoff games system. Cuba bring them kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
At the time when Cuba was wrenching on the bowels of the BCS, the only thing left is a pile of ashes and some toupees charred.
This is actually a time critical in the fight against the BCS and its anti-playoff position. In many respects, Cuba is also powerful - and ruthless - University Presidents themselves. Good. That is what we need.
If you think that Cuba is perfectly capable of assuming the arrangement then you know not Cuban. Once locked on a target, he is relentless. Ask the NBA refs or Commissioner David Stern.
It is Cuban, after all, who has accumulated more than 1.7 million to the NBA fines. He has also hang the Dallas Mavericks and smart, fresh blood has added to the sport. Cuba can do almost anything.
It is not perfect. Cuba offers possess the Texas Rangers had failed, and while the Mavericks has reached the NBA Finals, they have yet to win a Championship.
Yet, to bet against Cuba at your own risk.
At least, Cuba Cuban will wear by the University Presidents therefore as another owner of rich and powerful, say, Jerry Jones, can pick up where he left off the coast.
This is what I think that Cuban will be. It will use its massive social platform to embarrass the BCS. Just the Cuban throws on the issue. He spend years on his blog on Twitter and discussing the incompetence of the CSO interviews with the media. It is happening already now. Cuba makes media cycles.
I imagine will be Cuban some get point a hearing before the Congress.
Once again, Cuba can be relentless. The BCS has never seen an opponent like him.
It will push his idea, which is too bright to fail. Cuba is a 12 - or 16-team tournament. Losers in the tournament will play in the best Bowl game (this is something that I had never thought). It would raise the half a billion dollars as an incentive to the Presidents. I guess, because he is Mark Cuban, it could get a shipment of money if necessary.
"As a college football fan, I hate the BCS simply because of all the inefficiencies," Cuban told the media. "My orientation still is if there is something that everyone hates, and there are all sorts of inefficiency and lack of transparency, then somewhere there is an opportunity for business."
Mistake people make is that they believe that Cuban will convince the University Presidents to go with a playoff system. This is not true. It doesn't have to convince them. It may interfere with the system series playoffs or even intimidate the. Cuba is one of the few sports acumen, power and stubbornness to do so.
I've rarely anchored to an owner. It is like rooting for Wall Street.
I am now.
