Ordonez stay put with the Tigers of $10 M (CBC)

The Detroit Tigers have announced officially their deal with one year of Magglio Ordonez.

The Tigers do not announce contractual clauses Friday.

A person familiar with the negotiations told the Associated Press Thursday that Ordonez and the Tigers agreed to a 10 million USD a year contract.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the agreement had not been announced.

Detroit decreased $ Ordonez October 15 million option, but will now take back star six times after he broke his right ankle in July.

Ordonez hit calibre.303 with 12 home runs in 84 games last season.

The Tigers were occupied this off-season, adding catcher Victor Martinez and analgesic Joaquin Benoit.
